New York – August 31, 2010 – Children’s Progress, a leading company in the early education market, today announced that it has been ranked on the annual Inc 500|5000 list of fastest-growing private companies for the second consecutive year. Despite an economy still on the mend, Children’s Progress continued its expansion and achieved an impressive 3-year growth figure of 586%.
As an Inc 500|5000 honoree, Children’s Progress shares a prestigious pedigree with notable alumni such as Zappos, Microsoft, Patagonia, and Oracle. For the second year in a row, the company also ranked within the top ten of Inc’s list of fastest growing Education companies and 50 of New York City based companies.
We are extremely proud to be recognized on the Inc 500|5000 list for the second year in a row. For 30 years, the list has been a reflection of the creativity and resilience of America’s top entrepreneurs, said Children’s Progress CEO and co-founder Kevin Greaney.
Children’s Progress grew from a Columbia University portfolio company with three employees to a thriving business of over 50 professionals dedicated to serving schools, districts and state agencies nationwide. Its computer-based adaptive assessments are created by a team of early education specialists, and use an MIT-patented scaffolding structure to quickly pinpoint each student’s strengths and weaknesses.
Our teachers need more efficient and effective ways to assess and teach in order to help students achieve their potential. They deserve so much better than the century-old methods of testing, said Greaney. This has always been our mission at Children’s Progress – to help teachers help children reach their goals. We’re excited that our efforts have been rewarded and will continue to strive to do even better.
